Karachi residents have experienced low intensity earthquakes from Sunday evening to Monday morning with at least four tremors reported throughout the city. Ameer Haider Laghari, head of the Tsunami Warning Center Karachi National, said that Faille Landhi’s line in Karachi had become active.
He explained that energy had accumulated along the fault line, which is now gradually released, causing light tremors in certain parts of the city.
Laghari said the tremors could continue for one to two days, but that their intensity should gradually decrease.

He urged residents not to panic, adding that it is part of a natural seismic process.
At least four tremors were felt within 24 hours.
The most recent earthquake measured 3.2 on the Richter scale with the densely populated quidabad region of the city as its epicenter. Residents of the region also experienced a similar 3.6 coarse tremor at 5:33 p.m. yesterday.
The two earthquakes during the night were born at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers below the surface.
The third tremor was reported in areas such as Quidabad, Malir and the surrounding neighborhoods. Residents have described hearing unusual noises of birds and animals overnight, which added to their anxiety.
Trendments were felt in some parts of Karachi on Sunday evening, with an amplitude of 3.6 recorded on the Richter scale. According to the seismological center of the meteorological department, the epicenter of the earthquake was near Quaidabad, and the depth was recorded at 10 kilometers.
The aftershocks stir the panic through the city late in the night
Trendments were felt in several parts of Karachi at 1.03 morning, which prompted residents in regions such as Malir Khokhrapar, Shah Faisal Colony, Landhi, Korangi, Jafar Tayyar (Malir), Bakra Peeri, Landhi Future Mor, Gul Ahmed, and the security of the hospital.
Subsequently, other tremors were felt in the city of Shah Latif, the colony of Bhains and the localities nearby.
According to the seismological center, the second earthquake had a magnitude of 3.2 and occurred at a depth of 12 kilometers, with its epicenter near the city of Gadap, Karachi.

Later, a third tremor was reported in areas like Quaidabad, Malir and the surrounding neighborhoods. Residents have described hearing unusual noises of birds and animals overnight, which added to their anxiety.
People have been seen reciting “Allah-Akbar”, “Kalima Tayyaba” and “Durood Sharif”, while many would have asked for fear. Some houses would have undergone minor damage, including cracks in the walls.
These tremors come only two months after a moderate earthquake hit the city. On March 31, a 4.7 magnitude earthquake was recorded 75 kilometers north of Karachi, with tremors felt at 4:11 p.m. This earthquake, at a depth of 19 kilometers, has caused no reported damage, but led to a general public concern and an online discussion.
