The Minister of Information, Attaullah Tarar, expressed his gratitude to Allah for the successful conclusion of the operation in Balutchistan, which led to the elimination of 33 terrorists involved in the diversion of Jaffar Express.
Speaking on the tragic incident on Wednesday, Tarar said that the operation had been carried out effectively, saving the life of innocent civilians held hostage by activists. He argued that before the operation, 21 lives were lost, including the martyrdom of four soldiers of the Pakistani army.
However, during the operation, the security forces, including the Pakistani army, the body frontier, special services group (SSG) and the Air Force, showed a large bravery and managed to save the 440 passengers on the diverted train, by transferring them to a safe place.
Tarar also condemned propaganda surrounding the incident, in particular Indian media, the Liberation Army Baloutch (Bla) and Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI). He accused these entities of spreading a coordinated story about the attack, suggesting that they were trying to exploit tragedy for their own political gain.
He also criticized PTI to align with the Indian media and the blah, stressing that they should have focused rather on verified information related to the operation. Tarar said PTI should be ashamed to create a false story and politicize the problem.
The Minister of Information also stressed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had welcomed the capacities of the security forces of Pakistan in the execution of successful exploitation.
He reiterated that Pakistan would not rest as long as terrorism is not eradicated from the country, and he stressed the government’s commitment to ensure that such incidents are not reproduced.
He assured that the armed forces of Pakistan, the security agencies, the police and the Rangers remain vigilant and will continue to continue and apprehend the terrorists. Tarar highlighted the inflexible determination of the PM, the Government and the Pakistani army to eliminate terrorism and restore peace in the country.
Regarding the blah, Tarar said that the plot of the terrorist group had been exposed and thwarted, and that they would not succeed in their harmful objectives. He also said that the nation was ready to face all challenges with courage and determination.
The Minister of Information concluded by mentioning that Prime Minister Shehbaz had spoke to the chief minister of Balutchistan and would visit the province the next day to discuss details and describe the next steps to deal with the consequences of the attack.
