Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said that credible intelligence reports suggest that India provides for military action against Pakistan in the next 24 to 36 hours, using the recent Pahalgam attack in Jammu and the Kashmir of Indian origin (IIOJK) as a pretext.

In a video statement published late Tuesday, he said that India bases his alleged plans on the “baseless and self-prepares” accusations “linked to the Pahalgam incident, in which 26 people were killed.

“There is verified information indicating that India intends to carry out a military operation against Pakistan. India uses Pahalgam incident as a justification for the attack,” said the minister.

He warned that any form of assault by India would be greeted by a decisive and strong response. “Pakistan will keep India fully responsible for the potentially disastrous consequences in the region,” he added.

Rejecting the account of India, the minister said that Pakistan rejects the self-imposed role of New Delhi as “a claimant, judge and executioner” in regional matters. He reiterated that Pakistan has been the victim of terrorism for more than two decades and condemned terrorism in all its forms on a global scale.

Tarar said Pakistan had acted as a responsible state following the Pahalgam incident by offering an independent and neutral investigation to discover the facts and reasons for the attack. “Unfortunately, India has chosen the path of irrationality and confrontation,” he said.

He also said that India’s refusal to accept a impartial investigation exposes his underlying motivations. “Using such attacks to pursue political objectives is both unhappy and condemnable,” he said.

Reaffirming the position of Pakistan, he concluded by saying: “Any military adventurism of India will receive a certain decisive response.
