Taylor Swift had a record 78 days with her hit single, Ophelia’s destiny” in first position in the Global Spotify ranking, now beaten by Djo.
After the final of Stranger things, Djo, whose real name is Joe Keery, hit the charts with his song End of Beginning.
The song was a smash hit upon its release in 2022, before going viral on TikTok, and has now returned to reclaim the number 1 spot.
While the Swifties celebrated Opalite hitmaker’s reign on the charts, Swift herself has previously praised Djo and appears to be a fan herself.
THE Runner The singer previously shared that he was shocked to learn that the Grammy winner knew his song, as he recalled meeting her in a New York studio on The beak podcast in 2024.
“I happened to be there the day she was there. And she’s really nice. I mean, I’ve met her a few times,” he said, adding, “She said, ‘Hey, I really like your song, End of the beginning.‘
He went on to share that he asked the pop superstar how she heard the song, saying, “‘What? You heard that song? How the hell did you hear that song?'”
However, he added, “she’s a music lover and she’s also very into new music and things that are coming out. So I guess it doesn’t shock me because she’s a big music fan and she was digging around and somehow she came across her desk and she listened to it and said she loved it. Really nice of her.”
