The Citizens Foundation (TCF) and the Khan Academy Pakistan announced an innovative collaboration fed by AI to support teachers and improve class learning in certain TCF schools.
This pilot initiative aims to empower teachers by improving the performance of teachers’ lessons, promoting critical thinking and improving class engagement for students from 6th to 8th year.
Under this collaboration, Khanmigo will be integrated into certain TCF schools to improve the teaching of mathematics and sciences.
Unlike traditional AI, Khanmigo acts as an interactive teaching assistant, helping educators improve their knowledge, crafts through lessons, developing quizs and promoting a more in -depth commitment.
The pilot program will provide teachers with AI -focused teachers’ tools, will provide structured prompts to guide teachers to develop relevant learning equipment for their students and offer bilingual support in English and Ourdou.
In addition, Khan Academy Pakistan will form the school heads of schools on the effective integration of AI, offering advice on the best practices of use of Khanmigo in classrooms.
This initiative will allow TCF teachers to refine their teaching methods, personalize learning experiences and stimulate significant discussions in class, making learning focused on AI more accessible, structured and engaging for students.
“At TCF, we want to make sure that technology serves as a bridge to better learning opportunities rather than an obstacle,” said Syed Asaad Ayub Ahmad, President and CEO.
“We hope that Khanmigo will be useful to serve as a reflection partner for TCF teachers in class and a transformative step towards accessible and engaging high quality education.”
One of the most promising characteristics of Khanmigo is his bilingual support, allowing teachers to ask for both English and Ourdou. This ensures that educators of various backgrounds can fully engage with content. As the program progresses, regional linguistic support is explored, further expanding its accessibility.
“Khanmigo aims to give each child to Pakistan access to world class education,” said Zeeshan Hasan, CEO of Khan Academy Pakistan.
“By empowering teachers, we make sure that AI becomes an empowerment tool rather than a shortcut. This partnership with TCF is a step forward to transform the way education is provided in classrooms.”
“TCF firmly believes in the power of good teachers, and there is an undeniable social aspect of learning a teacher. We hope Khanmigo will increase teacher’s skills to make experience in class fun, engaging and significant for students,” shared Shazia Kamal, executive vice-president, TCF results.
Pakistan being confronted with a critical education crisis and a shortage of trained teachers, solutions fueled by AI like Khanmigo offer an evolutionary and profitable means of improving the quality of education.
Although this initiative is currently in its pilot phase, TCF and Khan Academy Pakistan plan to extend the program to more schools.
While the AI continues to reshape global education, this partnership reaffirms TCF’s commitment to equip teachers with the best tools to inspire and educate the next generation of Pakistani Changemakers.
TCF is a non -profit organization created in 1995 by a group of citizens who wanted to provoke a positive social change thanks to education.
The 30 -year organization is one of the main Pakistani organizations in the field of education, educating 301,000 students in 2,033 school units in the country.
