Teachers deployed to reopen the historic college of Kali Mori

Karachi:

The Sindh College education department has temporarily deployed 20 teachers to the historic government of Hyderabad Kali Mori College to resume academic activities after a long break.

Most assigned teachers – including aggregate teachers, assistant teachers and teachers – are currently posted in various government colleges in Karachi. However, under the policy “authorize to work”, they will now start teaching at Kali Mori College. Due to the absence of funds sanctioned (SNE) by the college, teachers will continue to receive salaries from their parent establishments.

The Kali Mori College obtained the status of the university almost a decade when it marked its 100th anniversary. After upgrading, the college section was interrupted and its SNE was redistributed to other colleges. However, this year, the college has resumed admissions, marking an important step towards the restoration of its academic heritage.

The director general of colleges confirmed that around 800 students had been admitted to various college faculties for the current academic year.

This decision aims to rekindle the academic spirit of the centenary institution and to guarantee that registered students have access to qualified teaching staff.
