On Wednesday, a fierce fire battle in the Kot Kashmir region of Lakki Marwat made three terrorists on Wednesday, including a local key militant commander, while a police officer kissed martyrdom in the exercise of his functions.
According to a statement published by Lakki Marwat police spokesperson Shahid Marwat, “in the fire exchange, Three Khawarij, including a local key terrorist, Commander Chhota Waseem Gundi Khankhel, was killed”.
The meeting broke out after the police received information that a group of activists moved from Gundi to Kashmir.
Quickly acting on the directives of the regional police officer of Bannu Sajjad Khan and the district police officer Jawad Ishaq, the local police, alongside the members of the region’s peace committee, continued the suspects.
The activists were intercepted at Kot Cashmire, where they opened fire on the police and advanced volunteers.
A heavy exchange of gunshots ensued. A terrorist was neutralized on the spot, while two others withdrew into a neighboring house, trying to use women and children inside as human shields, according to the press release.
“However, the police surrounded the house and continued the fight with great competence, which lasted two hours. At the same time, the police strategically withdrew the women and children trapped in the house and continued the fight with the terrorists there and killed them,” the statement said.
In the middle of the cross fires, the policeman Shahidullah Gundi Khankhel suffered critical injuries. He was urgently transported to the district headquarters’ hospital, but died of his injuries on the road.
“Policeman Shahidullah Gundi Khankhel was seriously injured and was sent to the district headquarters, where he was embraced martyrdom while succumbing to his injuries on the way,” said the police declaration.
