Terrorists bomb the school of girls, opposite another in Lakki Marwat

The terrorists again struck on the right to education in the district of Lakki Marwat, destroying a primary school for girls in Ghazni Khel Tehsil. Fortunately, there were no victims, although the school building has undergone heavy damage.

The explosion took place Tuesday evening in the village of Pahar Khel Paka, where the unidentified attackers planted explosives inside the elementary school of the girls of the government.

The powerful explosion has reduced classrooms to rubble, making installation unusable and spreading fear among local residents. The authorities confirmed that the attack had taken place at night when the school was closed, preventing potential lifestyles.

Condemning the attack, the officials said that targeting girls’ schools was part of a broader attempt of terrorists to deprive children, in particular girls, of their constitutional right to education. The security forces completed the area and launched a research operation to find the officials.

In a separate incident, the terrorists set fire to another school in the same locality, destroying furniture. However, the residents managed to turn off the fire and save the building from a complete destruction. Police from Ghazni Khel hired the attackers in a firearm battle, forcing them to flee.

During the fire exchange, the gendarme Gul Rehman was injured and moved to the hospital of the Tajazai district headquarters. The district police officer, Nazir Khan, directed the operation.

The inspector general of the Bannu region, Sajjad Khan, congratulated the police for their bravery. “The harmful designs of terrorists will never be allowed to succeed,” he promised, highlighting continuous vigilance to protect educational establishments, life and goods.

Meanwhile, local communities have urged the government to strengthen school security, warning that repeated attacks endanger children’s education, but also threaten the wider social fabric in the region.
