The beloved mascot of Texas A&M is underway after having undergone medical procedure to resolve a health problem, said a university official.
Wake up X, a collie, had it surgically removed the right eye after the veterinarians diagnosed it with glaucoma. Wake up X, also known as the “First Lady of the Aggeland”, experienced a discomfort and a nebulosity in the eye before diagnosis and surgery, said the president of Texas A&M, Mark A. Welsh III.
Eye -elimination was carried out by abundance of caution after discovering signs of abnormal tissue, added Welsh.

“I am grateful to announce that Miss Rev has successfully suffered surgery, has been released and rested comfortably,” said Welsh.

The Texas A&M Water Mascot dates back to 1931, when a group of cadets found an injured dog and slipped it on the campus. The dog barked when the buglers played the Morning wake up, winning the name of the wake.

Winds up X, the last iteration of the AGGIES Mascot, has patrol the team’s touch line since the 2021 season. A inflated golf cart known as “REV Force One” helps transport the collie through the campus.
Welsh said Wellet would need time for her duties when she continues to recover. However, the long hair collie should be able to resume commitments in the fall.

“According to her veterinary team, we can expect Miss Rev to return to take advantage of all her favorite activities – navigate Revre Force One, assist the courses, encourage aggregates and keep our ski -outs on the online campus – this fall,” he said.
Texas A&M went 8-5 last season, under the first-year head coach Mike Elko.
