Texas man sentenced to 18 months in prison to track Caitlin Clark

Michael Lewis, a 55 -year -old man from Texas, was sentenced to more than 18 months in prison after pleading guilty of harassment and harassment the superstar of Indiana Caitlin Clark fever.

“This resolution guarantees that the accused is held responsible for his threatening actions, for the fear he has inspired and the disturbances he caused,” said Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears by WTHR CH. 13 in Indianapolis following Lewis’ sentence. “He will now spend the next two and a half years at the Ministry of Correction, and the victim may have peace of mind while focusing on what matters to her.”

Lewis also received the order to avoid contact with Clark, to stay away from the fever or Indiana Pacers games and the properties of the team, and not to use the Internet as part of his sentence, by WTHR.

“You cannot help yourself as long as you are not helped,” the judge told Lewis, who said at the hearing on Monday that the end of the world was coming.

Lewis sent Clark messages via his X account, one of them saying that he had led several times in his house, encouraging him “not to call the law for the moment”. He also sent that he had bought tickets for a match just behind the bench.

Clark had told the authorities that she feared for her safety before Lewis entered Indianapolis, adding that she would modify her appearance before going out in public.

Asked about the message on January 8, Lewis would have told the police that he was going to Indianapolis for a vacation and minimized the number of messages he had sent to Clark. He added that it was a “fantastic thing” and a “joke”.

“It takes a lot of courage for women to manifest themselves in these cases, which is why many do not do it,” said Mears when Lewis was arrested, via Fox 59. “In doing so, the victim gives the example to all women who deserve to live and work in Indy without threat of sexual violence.”
