Ryan Phillippe can be absent from the last I know what you did last summer Revival, but it is not due to the lack of affection for the original star.
Despite three Ryan’s comrades who come back to resume their emblematic roles in the new episode, the actor, who played Barry Cox in the 1997 classic cult, does not come in the film currently in theaters.
According to producer Neal H. Moritz, who is part of the franchise since its creation, the integration of Ryan in a story already filled with head signs in the past was simply not in the cards, by People magazine.
“It would have pushed,” he told the publication, referring to the abundance of nostalgic Easter egg film.
Director and co-series Jennifer Kaytin Robinson echoes this feeling, assuring fans that the absence of the actor was not personal.
“It just had to be too much,” she said.
“We have a mention of Barry Cox. He receives a cry. But, yes, it started to feel too many ideas.”
However, Robinson hinted that the door was not closed for a future return. “It is not for lack of love for Ryan-he is incredible,” she spoke.
She concluded by saying: “And I think there is a very fun way to integrate Ryan into a suite that I hope to perform.”
