Dhaka: The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) finished its annual general meeting (AGM) in Dacca on Thursday, with the 25 member nations.

The president of ACC, Mohin Naqvi, praised the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for his exceptional hospitality throughout the two -day rally.

“I would like to thank the BCB for their warm hospitality and all the member countries for their active participation,” Naqvi said at a press conference after the meeting.

Naqvi, who is also president of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), underlined the collective resolution of member nations to propel Asian cricket.

“We decided to work together for improving cricket,” he said.

Naqvi described the Aga as both as “fruitful and memorable”, indicating productive results and a positive collaborative spirit between the participating nations.

“These two days were really memorable. No one wants politics involved – Reunion was held in a very positive environment.”

With regard to Asia Cup 2025, Naqvi assured that a final decision will soon be made, adding that discussions with the Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI) are underway.

“A decision on the Asian Cup will be announced shortly,” he said. “Discussions with the Indian Cricket board are underway, and we are optimistic that everything will be resolved in due time.”

Responding to concerns about the absence of certain people, Naqvi said that even if everyone could not attend, each member council was represented.

“Some people could not go to Dhaka – it happens. I myself missed a meeting in Singapore once. Sometimes it is due to planning conflicts, but the important thing is that all the member advice was represented.”

Stressing the importance of unity and collaboration, Naqvi stressed the collective responsibility to work for the growth of cricket in the region.

“This is a team effort, and we will continue to hold such meetings in the future,” he added.

He also confirmed that discussions with the Bangladesh Council on several questions were underway.

“Please wait for the official announcement,” he concluded.
