The adolescent swimmer Luka Mijatovic breaks the Phelps record at the American championships

A 16 -year -old swimmer put himself on the radar of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games after having broken a record at the 2025 American swimming championships on Wednesday which had already been detained by Michael Phelps.

Whenever Phelps name comes into play in the swimming pool, you know that it is an incredible feat given the 28 American Olympic medals (23 gold), which is a record of all time.

But Luka Mijatovic withdrew a Phelps record after posting a free time of 200 meters of 1: 45.92, which not only broke the record of the age group 15-16 (1: 47.29), but also the age group 17-18 owned by Phelps.

Phelps swam it at 1: 45.99, but Mijatovic has just beat him in his last lap.

The return of the summer Olympic Games to Los Angeles is still in three years, but Mijatovic is certainly someone to watch after their performance.

Mijatovic was built until this time, after finishing first at 500 freestyle and 200 meters freestyle at the California Interscholastic Federation State championships in May.

He is one of the best classified secondary swimmers, and he is currently ranking first in the state of California.

The school has already been surrounded by some Olympians at the swimming championships, which started on Tuesday.

Torri Huske, Bobby Finke, who has already won the 1500 meter free of the event, and the accomplished Katie Ledecky was one of those who contributed to Indianapolis.

These championships are for swimmers to win a place in the world championships, which will be held in Singapore in July and August.
