- Amazon’s new generation Kindle scribe is available in three models

Less than a year after reorganizing its Kindle range with the beginnings of The Colorsoft and a new paperwhite, Amazon gives the Sindle Scribe an appropriate and major refreshment.
I just unveiled during the company’s September 30, 2025 aircraft event – the first large hardware showcase under Panos Panay – the new scribe presents a thinner design, an updated display technology and three distinct models, one with a color.
5.4 millimeters thick and weighing 400 grams, the third -generation Kindle scribe is thinner than the iPad Air but slightly thicker than Apple’s last iPad Pro with M4. The range includes an entry -level without front light model, the standard scribe with before lighting and the brand new Kindle Scribe Colordoft, which adds color reading and writing capacities. The Colorsoft also makes its debut in a new finish called Fig, a deep tone in red, while the others only come in graphite.
The refreshing scribe has symmetrical glasses around its 11 -inch screen, which makes it more comfortable for use on the right and on the left. Amazon has also rebalanced the interns so that the device no longer feels at the top or on the side.
The USB-C loading port remains at the bottom, while the premium pen now focuses magnetically on the right side with stronger magnets. The power button has moved on the same side – a change long requested by Kindle users.
Amazon made the thinner design by reworking the display battery. The anti-ice film has been removed in favor of textured Glass, which, according to society, always offers a feeling of paper-shaped writing. These tools are in an updated software experience which arrives through this range of Kindle scribes, and Amazon hopes to bring most, if not all, to the models of existing second generation scribe. There are still lower and upper bars for easy navigation, but the new organizational system, nicknamed “Workspaces”, has bitten our interest.
Here you can group books, notes, PDFs and other documents downloaded in separate files. This can be useful for organizing content on your scribe for students, people who use it in the office and passionate readers. Just as quickly notes with a gesture on an iPad, there is a new feature of fast notes here which can instantly draw a page on which you can write.
Although there has already been a “sending to Kindle” feature to transfer documents to the device, the Kindle scribe will soon integrate more transparent with Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive, allowing easy importation of documents for signatures, refuses and annotations. You can even return them to the respective service as a PDF document.
Even more useful is a smarter research function that mixes LLM style intelligence with your stored documents. For example, let’s say that you have taken notes in a weekly head-to-head and that you are preparing for an end-of-year summary. You can type in the search bar – or handwriting a request with the pen and converted it – something like “What are the main points I raised every week?” Or “What themes came most often?” The scribe will scan your notebooks, whether stored locally or in the cloud, and will send the results summarized with sources. This is the kind of tool that could be really useful.
And that sums up what is new with the three new Kindle scribes – the United States will first obtain the Sindle Scribe and Kindle Scribe Colordoft, later in 2025, and for the moment, Amazon does not open the pre -orders, but you can mark your interest. These two models will start an international launch in 2026, and the SCRIBE Kindle without basic light will also make its debut in the United States at the same time.
