The spokesman for the United States Department of State, Tammy Bruce, refused to comment on a question concerning the former Prime Minister Imran Khan, declaring that the United States government is not involved in the internal affairs of other countries.
During a briefing, a journalist questioned Bruce about the founder of the PTI, to which she replied that the United States did not offer comments on national questions of foreign nations.
“I will not comment on the internal executives of another country,” said Bruce.
Bruce also said that for more information on President Donald Trump’s opinions, information requests should be sent to the White House.
She also reiterated that President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have constantly stressed that the United States deeply cares about the global problems and well-being of her neighbors.
“The United States focuses on what is going on worldwide,” added Bruce, thinking about the broader approach to foreign policy in the United States.
She concluded the answer by thanking the journalist and moving to the following question during the briefing.
Thi is the second moment in two weeks that the spokesman avoided treating the issue.
At a press conference on March 6, a question was raised on Imran Khan’s potential support from US President Donald Trump, but the spokesman also chose not to comment on the issue at that time.
