Karachi:
The assembly pressure of the stakeholders in the industry and calls for repression on hoarding has stopped the recent increase in sugar prices, retail rates and large showing signs of decline.
According to Abdul Rauf Ibrahim, president of the Wholesale Groceers Association, the retail price of sugar has gone from RS200 to RS195 / kg in recent days. Similarly, the wholesale price went from RS185 to an RS fork178-180 / kg.
RAUF allocated prices to a higher examination on speculative hoarding. He said that around 2.6 million tonnes of sugar are currently retained from the market to take advantage and smuggled.
RAUF also warned of the imports of sugar offered, saying that domestic production is sufficient to meet local demand. He warned that importing sugar at this stage would be economically harmful, which would potentially cost the country more than $ 265 million in currencies at a time of serious budgetary strains.
