Rawalpindi:
The chief of staff of the army (COAS), General Syed Asim Munnir, told the Pakistani army on Saturday “was determined to feed the youth of the country”.
He expressed the point of view during his visit to the canton of Bahawalpur where he was informed of the aspects of operational preparation and formation of the Bahawalpur Corps.
While addressing officers and troops, he congratulated their unshakable dedication, their high morale and their preparation for combat, said a press release from the ISPR.
He reiterated that rigorous training remains the cornerstone of the professional development of a soldier and must continue to be the decisive attribute of the Pakistani army to overcome the challenges of modern war.
The Coas inaugurated the CMH Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS), Innosta Cholistan and Integrated Combat Simulator Arena; Pioneer initiatives to advance medical training, information technologies and combat preparation.
During his stay with CIMS, he signed up with students from various universities through Bahawalpur, stressing the army’s commitment to maintain the youth of the country.
The COAS encouraged students to continue academic excellence with dedication and to acquire the skills necessary to contribute significantly to national development.
He praised the central role of young people in the training of the future of Pakistan and reaffirmed the support of the army to the initiatives which empower young talents.
Earlier, upon arrival, the COAS was received by Commander Bahawalpur Corps.
