The ASF officer shot “the slap incident”

Rawalpindi:

An airport security force officer (ASF) was rejected after the completion of an inquiry on an misconduct involving a passenger at Islamabad international airport.

The incident occurred three days ago when the arrival and departure of several international flights.

A dispute broke out at the gateway to the international departure show when an ASF manager confronted a passenger trying to access the show through the person’s door with his family, including children.

According to several video clips that have surfaced after the altercation, an ASF officer can be seen and heard pointing to pointing his colleague while addressing the passenger, saying: “If you slap, I will not save him.” The images also show two children visibly in standing distress nearby, while another child with a backpack heads towards the father.

Passers-by are seen and intended to try to calm the situation, including attempts at reasoning with the passenger carrying a blue t-shirt.

In another video, an officer identified as being seen Zia approaching the passenger at the person’s door.

During the exchange, a voice was intended to call the passenger a “bestial human”.

Sources have confirmed that senior officials had intervened to defuse the situation and that the passenger was finally authorized to carry out his travel plans.

After the videos became viral on social networks and information platforms, the ASF headquarters took note and launched a Karachi investigation.

The team examined video surveillance images of the airport and recorded declarations of all staff members, including those directly involved.

Following the investigation, the assistant sub-inspector (ASI) ZIA was found guilty of fault. He was dismissed from the service after a summary trial.

Attempts to contact the ASF spokesperson for official comments remained unanswered and the messages were not returned.

However, an ASF senior officer, addressing the Express PK Press Club under the cover of anonymity, confirmed the rejection of the officer involved in the incident.
