A special special anti-terrorist (ATC) in Fairebad condemned the best leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI) up to 10 years in prison in the events on May 9 on Thursday.
The chief of the opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub, head of the opposition in the Senate Shibli Faraz, Zartaj Gul, Mna Sahibzada Hamid Raza and former Mna Sheikh Rashid Shafiq – the former Minister of the Interior Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed – was not one of the 108 other leaders condemned by the 185 involved in cases, have been acquired.
About 60 of the convicted people, including Shibli Faraz, Omar Ayub, Zartaj Gul and Hamid Raza were sentenced to 10 years in prison, while other convicted people received three -year prison terms.
Meanwhile, the PTI Fawad Chaudhry chief was acquitted with Zain Qureshi, Khayal Kastro, Faizullah Kamoka, Rana Asad Mehmood Khan, Bilal Ashraf Basra, Haroon Rasheed, Amara Rasheed, Sahibzada Hassan Raza and Kamran Warraich.
Shafiq was absent from the court at the hearing and did not appear. He would have gone to hide to avoid arrest.
Mandates issued
Earlier in the day, the ATC issued arrest mandates against 50 PTI leaders as part of various cases related to the protest registered in several police stations in the federal capital before the PTI demonstration on August 5. The mandates were issued by judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain.
PTI secretary general, Salman Akram Raja, called for a national demonstration on August 5 of last week, urging the public to support what he called a “historic movement” for national sovereignty rather than a simple political survival.
Raja condemned what he described as unconstitutional actions against PTI legislators and a broader repression of dissent. He specifically criticized the decision of the Punjab assembly to send references against 26 PTI members to the Pakistan Electoral Commission, qualifying the illegal and politically motivated move, and said that the members of the PTI would continue to raise their votes against this stage.
The mandates of 41 PTI leaders were issued Thursday, while arrest mandates for nine other people had been issued earlier. The terms were issued in a case issue recorded at the Karachi Company police station.
The important names among those facing arrest are the former president Arif Alvi, Abdul Qayyum Niazi, Shibli Faraz, Faisal Javed, Salman Akram Raja, Rauf Hassan, Murad Saeed and Ahmad Niazi.
Mandates have also been issued for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Ali Amin Gandapur, Asad Qaiser, Hammad Azhar, Atif Khan, Shoaib Shaheen, Azam Khan Swati, Omar Ayubzada Hamid Raza.
The other members of the PTI named in the mandates include Aleema Khanum, Sheikh Waqas Akram, Kanwal Shauzab, Shandana Gulzar and Sher Afzal Marwat.
Faizabad protest
In the Faizabad protest case, which concerns the demonstrations held on the disqualification of the former Prime Minister Imran Khan, the court argued that the status of CM Ali Amin Gandapur as a proclaimed delinquent remains unchanged.
The court ordered the Islamabad police to arrest Gandapur, declaring that the arrest warrants remain in force. The court also ordered that if an order exists from the High Court of Peshawar, it must be respected.
PTI chief, Faisal Javed Khan and others, appeared in court. At the request of lawyers, the hearing was adjourned until August 6. The case against Ali Amin Gandapur and others is registered at the police station in the industrial area.
Protest of March 18
In a separate case concerning the demonstration of PTI leaders on March 18, the ATC issued arrest warrants against Pti MNA of Faisalabad, Ali Afzal Sahi. Judge Tahir Abbas Supra, who also presided over this case, noted that “Ali Afzal Sahi had not appeared before this court to date”. Mandates have also been issued for other absent PTI workers.
The hearing for the Golra police station was postponed until August 9.
November 26 protest
Meanwhile, in the case registered in the police station of the secretariat concerning the demonstration of November 26, the court rejected the deposit of an accused who remained several times absent. Mandates have been issued for those who are not present at the hearing. A medical-legal report linked to the case has been submitted and the next hearing was set for August 5.
The hearing of the November 26 case recorded at the Kohsar police station was also postponed until August 4. Mandates have been issued for accused who have not appeared.
Non -editors’ arrest warrants have been issued for 15 PTI leaders, notably Arif Alvi, Sheikh Waqas Akram, Kanwal Shauzab, Zubair Niazi and Asad Qaiser, as part of ten cases recorded in Rawalpi linked to the November 26 demonstration, the government prosecutors said on Thursday.
Addressing a press conference outside an ATC in Rawalpindi, the prosecutor Syed Zaheer Shah, flanked by the Chaudhry Muhammad district prosecutor, said that the deposit of the deposit for 68 accused have also been filed, as well as separate requests against their guarantees.
Zaheer Shah said that the accused’s delay in tactics will no longer be tolerated. In the case registered in the Sadiqabad police station, nine people out of 111 people appointed have already been convicted.
