- The Australian Human Rights Commission has inadvertently exposed data
- Personal information is included in the violation
- We do not yet know what information has been included specifically
Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) sent a data violation notification that the attachments have downloaded the commission’s web forms on its site. This includes around 670 documents “made potentially accessible in error”, confirms the commission.
About 100 of them were actually accessible online, potentially via Bing or Google – which prompted the Commission to approach the violation.
“The Commission takes the question of confidentiality and data protection very seriously. It is essential that people are able to safely share personal and sensitive information with the Commission via our website. We sincerely apologize to people who can be affected. The commission contacts people affected for whom we have contact details to advise them to the violation. ”
Personal information on display
The violation was not the result of malicious or criminal acts, although the details will be updated as the surveys continue. The web forms of “Speaking from Experience Project (March – September 2024), Human Rights Price appointments in 2023 (July 3, 2023 – September 4, 2023), and the national newspaper of the concept of anti -racism framework (October 2021 – February 2022) were also affected by this data violation.”
Many of them include the personal information of the people affected, although it is not clear specifically what has been included. All the affected in this incident would have been informed by the organization.
For anyone who fears that they have been affected by this violation or any other violation, we recommend that you close your accounts, maps and declarations closely to ensure that no suspicious activity is found.
