70MAI has unveiled the OMNI 4K dashboard cam, a new generation upgrade from the 360 -degree dashboard cam in the world, and it brings a multitude of significant improvements. The chief of them is the 4K / 60p video support – it is a big jump of the original 1080p recording of the OMNI.
There is also a new rear camera 1080p, which means the management of double channel recording, although with the two cameras in action, the recording capacities of the front rotating camera fall at 4K / 30p.
We loved the original model and rewarded it 4 stars in our Dash 70Mai camera review. This model is currently in our best dashboard campaign guide, although we fully expected to be replaced by this last 4K upgrade when our in -depth examination is finished, coming soon.
Regarding the price, the DASH 70MAI 4K CAME starts at $ 279.99 / £ 268 for the frontal camera alone, while a bundle which also includes the rear cam, the hard wiring kit and the micro memory card SD 256 GB will cost $ 406 / £ 389. Sales are set for Mars, with a specific TBC date. We will update this page with the prices and availability of Australia when we get it.
A more expensive and more expensive dashboard
This increase in video resolution and image frequencies is the new feature in the new rotary dashboard cam of 70mi. At the time of writing the present And Soft recording, effectively doubling your chances of clear capture if an incident occurs, and we have called this dashboard cam a premium interpreter in our 5 -star A329 examination in October. We expect similar performance from the Dash 70MAI OMNI 4K cam.
You can now also wire it with a 1080p rear camera for double channel recording, which means that your front and rear views are both covered, although this is a more expensive package. The 360 -degree capacities of the main camera are its celebration room, although it is important to note that it is a single camera which can run 360 degrees for the road Or Cabinet, not both at the same time. You must choose if you want your trip to be covered, or your karaoke sessions by car, now with a field of view of 130 degrees slightly reduced to 140 degrees from the original!
However, the rotary camera has neat features. In parking mode, he can follow the objects nearby when they move around the car, like a person who has been interested in your vehicle, and any potential bumps of other vehicles, supplied by the new detection of AI movement of 70MAI 2.0.
70MAI exchanged the OV02K OMNIVISION sensor of the original model for the popular sensor Sony Starvis 2. We do not know how the sensors compare, although I did a little research to discover that they share the same size of pixel of 2.9 µm and potentially similar low light performance. 70MAI has its own vision characteristic of Night OWL to improve night clarity, reducing noise and reflections, as well as Luma Vision Tech for visibility in almost total darkness.
The other shared features include Wi-Fi 6GHz and 4G Wi-Fi support for connectivity of mobile applications, streaming and download recording, as well as support for integrated GPS and ADAS for detection of Pedestrian, lane starting alerts and forward collision warnings.
The battery life must however be better in the new 4K model thanks to a new supercapacitor unit compared to the original lith-ion cell of 300mAh. The size of the screen of the main camera was also increased, from 1.2 to 1.4 inch. You can find out more about the Omni 4K dashboard cam on the 70Mai website. Overall, this is a full upgrade although more expensive, and we will share our full verdict very soon – trust us, it is the one to watch.
