New Orleans’ saints separated from Dennis Allen in November after seven defeats. The special team coordinator, Darren Rizzi, then received the title of interim coach.
The NFL franchise research of its next head coach remains active, but the team now knows at least one person who will not pick up the position. Buffalo Bills’s offensive coordinator Joe Brady withdrew his name from the application for the position, according to a report by NFL Media.
Brady prefers to continue to guide the bills offensive, even if New Orleans wishes to “interview Brady a second time,” Ian Rapoport, initiated the NFL network, reported. Brady’s name had also been associated with other head coach stations during the current job cycle.

The 2024 New Orleans season had a promising start, the team winning its first two games by 37 and 25 points respectively. But the defeat sequence that followed prompted the owners of the saints to make a change of coach during the season.

“Dennis has been part of our organization for many years,” said the team owner, Gayle Benson, in a statement shortly after the franchise announced Allen’s dismissal. “He is very appreciated in the NFL. Allen finished his mandate as a head coach in New Orleans with a 18-25 sheet. Allen spent seven seasons as a defensive coordinator of New Orleans before succeeding Sean Payton as a chief coach of the franchise. Allen is now one of the best candidates for the role of defensive coordinator of the Chicago Bears, ESPN reported.
Payton, who guided the saints to the sole title of the Franchise Super Bowl, turned to broadcasting in 2022 after leaving his job as head coach. He returned to the bench in 2023 when he was appointed next Broncos de Denver head coach.

Rizzi, as well as the defensive coordinator of the New York Giants Mike Kafka and the defensive coordinator of the Dolphins of Miami Anthony Weaver have all carried out interviews with the saints as part of the vast search for head coach. Philadelphia’s offensive coordinator, Kellan Moore, participated in a virtual interview last week, the team announced.
In his second season as a Bills player, Brady helped the star quarter of Josh Allen will undoubtedly have the best season of his career.
