Karachi:
In a unique celebration of the independence day of Pakistan and Maarka-E-Haq, the Sindh Government Sports Department organized a Bagh Ibn-E-Qasim, Clifton at Frere Hall. The event attracted enthusiastic participation, with more than 50 donkey carts participating in the animated race.
Nadeem won first place, followed by rice in second and Khalid Ismail in third. The winners received cash prizes from 75,000 rupees, 50,000 rupees and 25,000 rupees respectively, as well as trophies to honor their success.
Besides the first three, everyone was a winner. All participants also received cash prices and commemorative trophies, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The closing ceremony took place in Frere Hall, where the parliamentary secretary Saima Agha was invited in chief and distributed the prices. The additional sports secretary, Asad Ishaq, as well as other officials, also attended the event.
The race for donkey carts, mixing tradition with the celebration, drew the attention of residents and passers -by, transforming the streets into an animated track of acclamations and excitement.
