On Friday, several people were missing after a passenger car plunged into the Panjkora river following a collision with a coach in the upper district of the province of Khyber-Pakhtunwa, said local officials.
The accident occurred in the Chakum area of the Upper Dir District, where the vehicle has gone through the road and in the rapidly evolving river after the impact.
The rescue teams and volunteers rushed to the site and started looking for the submerged vehicle and those who are trapped inside.
According to officials, at least six people injured in the accident were transferred to a neighboring hospital to be treated.
Shared images on social networks show that the car is swept downstream, while passers -by looked helpless on the shore. The number of occupants in the car remains not confirmed.
Rescue efforts are continuing in difficult conditions, with high river currents and the discoloration of the day leaving progress.
