The Catholic Church of Minnesota draws sparks from condemnation of sports teams

“The twins of Minnesota are broken by tragic and insane mass shots today to the Church and School Annunciation of South Minneapolis. The innocent life in a place of learning and worship is incomprehensible,” said the declaration.

“Our deepest sympathies and prayers are with the victims, their families and all those who have been affected. In addition to our community, we mourn this tragedy and aspir in a future where such violence is no longer breaking. We are also deeply grateful to the first stakeholders whose courage prevented an even greater loss.”

Minneapolis police chief Brian O’Hara said the shooter approached the church and was starting to “pull a rifle through the church windows to the children sitting on the benches at mass”.

“Pulling through the windows, he struck the children and the faithful who were inside the building,” said O’Hara. “The shooter was armed with a rifle, a shotgun and a pistol. It was an act of deliberate violence against innocent children and other people adored. Cruelty and cowardice to shoot in a church full of children are absolutely incomprehensible.”

Police confirmed that the shooter had died, probably from a self-inflicted ball injury.

“We are devastated by the horrible violence that took place at the Annunciation church in Minneapolis this morning. Our hearts are broken for the victims, their families and all those who were affected by this insane and cowardly act. The Minnesota and Lynx Timberwolves also published a joint statement.

“We deeply have the heart broken by the tragic shooting that occurred this morning during a school mass in our community of Minneapolis. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the victims, their families and all those whose life has been changed forever by this act of insane violence. Minnesotans, we mourn this tragic loss and extends resistance and compassion to all those affected. “”

Several children injured during the shooting were treated at the Hennepin County Medical Center. Tom Wyatt, president of the Hennepin Healthcare Emergency Medicine Department, confirmed that four of these patients needed surgery.
