On Sunday, the central procession of Ashura in Karachi started in Nishtar Park under tight safety.
Strict security measures have been implemented throughout the city to ensure the safety of people in mourning participating in the event, Express News reported.
The central procession of Nishtar Park began after a main majlis planned in the morning. After the Majlis, the procession will continue its traditional route and will end at the Iranian Iranian imambargah in Kharadar.
The procession will travel from Nishtar Park to Kharadar, passing through key areas such as my Jinnah Road. According to traffic police, all Nunish’s roads in Kharadar have been closed, with the exception of Bab-E-Urdu Chowk.

To ensure overall security, a heaviness in police and rangers was made in all Karachi.
A total of 20,350 officers and staff will be in service. The procession route will be carefully checked using sniff dogs, and elite shooters will be positioned on roofs of large buildings along the route.
Mobile telephony services will be partially suspended in areas surrounding the procession to maintain close surveillance and prevent security threats.
In addition, a riding ban has been applied through the city as a precaution to avoid any unfortunate incident.
A detailed traffic diversion plan has been implemented for Muharram 8 to 10.
Traffic police were deployed to all key intersections to maintain the flow on alternative routes. The authorities said that the objective was to keep the movement smoothly while guaranteeing public security.
Citizens were invited to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police assistance line, Madadgar 15.
