- 95% of new vehicles should have connectivity characteristics by 2030
- Car manufacturers like BMW and Mini offer ESIM capacities
- Ubigi has reduced ESIM prices in seven European countries on demand
The ESIM market is evolving rapidly, with travel, the ESIM supply should go from 70 million to 280 million. An emerging key trend is the rise of connected cars, as more and more consumers are ready to transform their vehicles into mobile offices.
McKinsey reports that in 2030, 95% of new vehicles sold will be connected, with major opportunities for ESIM suppliers to provide business mobility solutions.
Ubigi, launched by Transatel, already exploits this change. In June 2025, the ESIM brand joined for mini to provide integrated Ubigi connectivity. With this continuous trend, they have also reduced prices in seven European countries to make connectivity in cars even more accessible.
“As part of our deep integration into the ESIM ecosystem, we design tailor -made customer journeys for each manufacturer, while offering a single international ESIM solution which works consistently in all markets”, explains Jacques Bonifay, CEO of Transatel / Ubigi.
What does this mean for ESIM suppliers?
ESIM suppliers have an increasing opportunity to draw on the vehicle connectivity market. Ubigi research shows that 40% of customers already use their ESIM for professional purposes, highlighting the demand for stable and high quality connectivity.
To meet these needs, ESIM suppliers will have to work in close collaboration with manufacturers to create quality of service and also meet challenges such as cross -border roaming, customer integration and the flexibility of the long -term plan.
“In the case of the Ubigi ESIM integrated into vehicles, an additional advantage lies in the direct use of the vehicle antenna. This guarantees better reception than an autonomous smartphone, whose signal can be weakened by the Faraday cage effect of the cabin,” explains Bonifay.
Offers focused on Ubigi companies also highlight what is possible. “What is distinguished by Ubigi for business is the advanced security features that go beyond private use.
Overall, consumers are looking for reliable and secure connectivity, and ESIM suppliers have the possibility of developing partnerships with car manufacturers, creating flexible commercial and leisure plans and creating a robust customer support service.
“For the future, we are currently in discussion with several other manufacturers for future deployments, which remain confidential at this stage, but Transatel is fully intended to become the global reference for connected cars,” concluded Bonifay.
