Bajaur:
The leader of the National Party of Awami (ANP), Maulana Khan Zeb, was killed with his police guard near Shandai Mor, moves away from the siege of Khar Tehsil, tribal district of Bajaur de Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The deadly assault also left three other injured.
According to sources, Maulana Khan Zeb, who was also the central secretary of religious affairs in ANP, actively campaigned for a peace march scheduled for July 13 in Bajaur when unidentified attackers opened fire on her vehicle. The chief of the ANP and police officer Sherzada injured himself and died of their injuries.
The wounded – identified as Dr Tariq, Shah Sawar and Usman – were transferred to a nearby medical establishment for urgent treatment.
After the incident, the workers of the ANP and local residents organized a demonstration while carrying the coffin of the chief killed near Khar Bazaar.
Funeral prayers for Maulana Khan Zeb will be offered today in her native village, Nawagai.
The governor of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal, Karim Kundi, firmly condemned the tragic dismissal incident in the Bajaur merged district which cost the life of the National Party of Awami (ANP) Maulana Khan Zeb and the police cop.
The governor expressed deep sadness of the loss of precious lives and sincere condolences extended to bereaved families.
“We are in solidarity with mourning families during this painful period,” said Governor Kundi.
He offered prayers for missing souls, looking for forgiveness for the deceased and patience so that families carry the immense loss. “I share my deepest condolences with the leaders of the ANP, party workers and mourning families affected by this tearing incident,” he added.
