The Minister of Defense, Khawaja Asif, called on civil-military unit behind the improvement of the American engagement, when he described the meeting between the chief of staff of the army, Marshal Asim Munnir and the President Donald Trump as a “milestone” in the history of Pakistani relations.
The chief of staff of the army, Marshal Asim Munnir, held an individual meeting with American president Donald Trump in the White House during lunch on Wednesday.
During the two-hour meeting, the two leaders discussed a wide range of questions, focusing on the expansion of bilateral cooperation in trade, artificial intelligence, energy, cryptocurrency and emerging technologies.
They also exchanged points of view on regional security issues, including efforts to combat terrorism, the recent ceasefire between Pakistan and India, and the increase in tensions in the Middle East.

In a statement published on X, AIF said that never before in the 78 -year -old diplomatic history from the two countries had invited an American president and met a Pakistani army chief in this way.
“This is a turning point in the 78 years of history of our relations,” he said. “The way regional and international issues were discussed during this meeting stressed the strategic importance of Pakistan. Our role in resolving global issues has been recognized. ”
According to the Asif, the discussion has also drawn international attention to longtime Indian-Pakistani conflicts, in particular the situation in cashmere.
“This is the success of the current hybrid model of governance,” he added, referring to the political-military coordination under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Coas Munir.
“The rebirth of the economy, the diplomatic setbacks of India and the worthy and successful improvement of relations with the United States – all these revolutionary changes have been made possible due to the strong coordination between Islamabad and Rawalpindi.”

US President Donald Trump called his meeting with Coas Munir “an honor” after a lunch held on Wednesday in the White House.
Addressing the media after the event, Trump expressed his gratitude to the military leader of Pakistan for having visited and recognized the role of the army leader by helping to avoid a new military escalation with India.
“It’s an honor for me to meet Asim Munir,” said Trump. “I invited him to thank him for not having gone to war. He deserves the appreciation of having helped to obtain the ceasefire. ”
“Pakistan and India are both nuclear powers,” said the American president. “We are in talks with Pakistan on a trade agreement. The management of the two nations is really remarkable. ”
