The CJP calls for gender-sensitive justice

ISLAMABAD:

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi has reaffirmed the judiciary’s commitment to protecting the rights of women and improving their access to justice, announcing a comprehensive gender-responsive justice reform program for 2026-27.

In a message issued on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Chief Justice said that women play a central role in the social, economic and civic life of Pakistan and their resilience and leadership continue to shape the present and future of the country.

He said the occasion provided an opportunity to renew the constitutional commitment to ensuring dignity, justice and a safe environment for all women.

International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated annually on March 8 to honor the achievements of women, promote gender equality, and advocate for rights and justice. The 2026 theme focuses on “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL women and girls.”
