Roger Ver, a first Bitcoin (BTC) investor who was once known as “Bitcoin Jesus” for his support for cryptocurrency, was charged with alleged tax fraud last year and was able to be sentenced to life imprisonment.
Now, many industry veterans come to his support, including the co-founder of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin, who qualified the potential phrase as “absurd”.

His words came after the founder of Silk Road, Ross Ulbricht, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for having created the Darknet market and by the Word by American President Donald Trump, showed support for the VER, saying that no one should “spend the rest of their life in prison on taxes”.

Ver and his legal team dispute the case, arguing that the accusations brought against him are politically motivated.
