Members of Figure Skating Community Surprised after an American Airlines flight tragically collided with an army helicopter Wednesday evening in Washington, DC, leaving the 67 on board the two planes probably dead.
American figure skating published a statement confirming that “several members of our skating community” were on board the flight. The organization said that she was returning home from a development camp which will be held after the American craft skating championships in Wichita, Kansas, which ended on Sunday.
“We are devastated by this unspeakable tragedy and hold the families of the victims closely in our hearts. We will continue to monitor the situation and publish more information as it will be available.”

The mayor of Wichita, Lily Wu, did not confirm how many members of us were making figure skating on board Flight 5342 During a press conference Thursday morning.
