Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, Amir Muqam, was involved in a road accident near Murriere when he returned to Islamabad after finishing an official visit to Azad Cachemire. According to sources, five people from his protocol team were injured, two of whom are in critical condition, Express News reported.
The incident occurred within the limits of Murriere, where one of the protocol vehicles was considerably damaged. Fortunately, Muqam emerged unscathed from the accident.
The rescue teams responded quickly and the injured were transferred to the combined military hospital (CMH) to Murrier for medical treatment. Emergency intervention operations were intensified in the area following the incident.
The first reports indicated that the minister was on the road to Islamabad when the accident took place. Murrier police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
