Lahore:
An electoral court rejected the electoral petitions deposited by the head of the PTI Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and his wife Qaisara Elahi against a notification of the PCE concerning the victory of their nephew in the elections in a district of the Punjab assembly.
The ECP had declared Chaudhry Salik Hussain the winning candidate in the constituency PP-32 in Gujrat. Elahi, whose wife is the sister of Chuadhry Shujaat, had challenged the results of the PP-32, appointing the ECP and Salik as respondents in the case.
The petitioner had argued that the ECP had wrongly published a notification of victory as according to Form 45, the declared winner had in fact ranked third.
