Islamabad:
Islamabad -based journalist Khalid Jamil was arrested by the National Cyber Crimes Investigation Agency from his home in the Islamabad media city, the agency confirmed on Friday.
In a statement, the NCCIA said that the arrest had been carried out after “the completion of official procedures” and that more details would be shared later.
Sources have indicated that a case had been recorded against the journalist earlier this year, without providing additional details.
The reports of his arrest began to circulate on social networks on Friday evening. Journalist Asad Ali Toor posted on X, saying that Jamil had been recovered by FIA and NCCIA officials.
