Karachi:
The Sindh Assembly continued its debate on the provincial budget for the fifth consecutive day on Saturday. The session, chaired by vice-president Anthony Naveed, focused on the continuous efforts of the government to improve public services, increase the standard of living and solve the fundamental problems of the province.
The Sindh Minister of Health, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, shared the performance of his department in detail. She stressed that 19 chest pain units are currently operating in Karachi. She also announced her intention to obtain CT Scan and MRI machines and improve intensive care facilities in public hospitals.
The Minister rejected rumors that the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) was given to any NGO. The MQM-Pakistan MPA Iftikhar Alam criticized the Sindh government, claiming discriminatory treatment towards Karachi. He questioned the need to pass Karimabad’s assessment in Karimabad.
He demanded a income distribution formula at the level of the district similar to the NFC price. Sindh Minister of Education Syed Sardar Shah criticized the federal government’s economic investigation, alleging that the outdated data was used to distort Sindh’s performance.
The Minister of Sindh, Zia-Ul-Hassan Lanjar, described various initiatives taken to improve law and order in the province. He mentioned a significant drop in several categories of crime compared to previous years.
According to the minister, 7,441 mobile phones have been torn off in the past year, but the frequency of these incidents has dropped.
