Islamabad:
The government has announced major allowances for defense, civil administration, pensions, subsidies and subsidies in its budget for financial year 2025-26.
The defense budget was increased by more than 20% while 2,550 billion rupees were reserved for the 2025-26 budget, which will be spent for the operations, equipment and other needs of the Pakistani army, the Pakistani Air Force, the Pakistani navy and related defense institutions.
For civil administration costs, 971 billion rupees have been reserved, which include the operational expenses of the federal ministries, the departments and the civilian bureaucracy.

An amount of RS1,055 billion has been allocated to retirement payments, which will be made to government employees. According to the budgetary document, this amount increases each year, adding to the government’s financial misfortunes.
As for subsidies, the government has assigned 1,186 billion rupees for various sectors, in particular the electricity sector. These subsidies will be provided to low -income consumers, agricultural tube wells and the industrial sector to facilitate them.
For subsidies, 1,928 billion rupees have been allocated, which will be distributed among the Benazir income support program (BISP), Azad Jammu and Cashmire, Gilgit-Baltistan, and the merged districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
The objective is to promote development, well-being projects and financial stability in these regions.
