Now it is revealed a Star Wars film titled The Hunt for Ben Solo was presented to Disney executives, but it did not get the green light.
Steven Soderbergh, who is director of the never-made film, is now writing about the project on the social media platform BlueSky.
“For the record, I didn’t like lying about the existence of ‘THE HUNT FOR BEN SOLO’, but it really had to remain a secret… until now!” he writes.
The filmmaker continues: “Also, following the ‘HFBS’ situation, I asked Kathy Kennedy if LFL had ever submitted a completed film script for greenlighting to Disney and had it rejected. She said no, that was a first.”
He also, in a previous interview with P.A.said, “I really enjoyed making the movie in my head. I’m just sorry the fans won’t be able to see it.”
Steven’s message comes after Adam Driver, who was set to star in the film, earlier revealed the existence of such a project.
“We pitched it to Bob Iger and Alan Bergman, and they said no. They didn’t see how Ben Solo was alive. And that’s it,” he told the news agency, adding that “the idea for the sequel was really cool. It’s no more, so I can finally talk about it.”
