A superhero film generally concerns good guys, but not Thunderbolt*. He presents a bunch of characters that fall into what can be called “gray areas”.
Jake Schreier, director behind the film Marvel, explained the complex characters of an interview with Empire.
“You are talking about a group of characters who have done a lot of bad things, and may find it difficult to feel good about themselves,” said the filmmaker.
However, the director noted: “There is one element that speaks to mental health and loneliness”.
“And how a part of the darkness that we live in our lives cannot necessarily be fixed, but cannot really be lighter by connection and by finding others,” he shared.
Regarding the lessons, Jake said he learned from filming Thunderbolt* That “there are so many things that I did not know before I started the film.”
He continued: “The largest learning curve for me was the proportion of the action with more emotional scenes focused on the characters.”
The filmmaker noted: “And how, even if these are more shooting days I have never had, they are eaten quickly by action stuff.”
“As we arrived at the end, it was like:” Oh, now I feel like I understand a little better, “he shared.
“(On Thunderbolts *), we are in the middle of nowhere in Utah, in a beautiful place, having a road and turning in heat to 100 degrees,” added Jake.
“Or find yourself in the second strongest building in the world. These are very special experiences,” concluded the director.
