About 15 minutes before a Saturday home match against Osasuna at the Lluís Company Olympic stadium was to start, the fans were informed that he would be postponed due to the death of Doctor Carles Miñarro Garcia.
Barcelona said he was “deeply saddened to announce the death of the first team Carles Miñarro Garcia tonight”, in a statement. The club also exercised “sincere condolences to its family and friends during this difficult period”.

Barcelona immediately provided any details on the cause of death, which, according to local media, was due to medical reasons.
“I cannot believe it,” wrote Barcelona player Ronald Araújo on X. “Rest in Peace, doc.”

Miñarro Garcia, 50, joined the medical staff of the first Barcelona team last season after having already worked with his team of futsal.
Osasuna said he had accepted Barcelona’s request not to play the match. The Spanish Football Federation confirmed that the decision was official.
