Friesen turned into the air and his vehicle caught fire on the track. He was able to speak to security officials when he was transported to a neighboring hospital, according to the website of the Super Dirtcar series.

Jessica Friesen published a statement on her husband early Tuesday morning. She said that CT scans eliminated her “from any injury to the head, neck or spine. Unfortunately, he is still in a huge amount of pain”.

“Stewart has undergone an unstable pelvic fracture / open book, which means that its basin is broken in two or more places, with a large hematoma in the region,” the statement said. “Stewart also has a fractured right leg. These two injuries will need surgery. Stewart was transferred to a larger hospital this morning for these procedures.”
