Johnson is a team captain with the Eagles, having spent his 12 NFL seasons with the franchise.
He was there in 2018 when the controversy returned after their victory for the Super Bowl against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.
Trump was in power when he canceled his invitation to the Eagles to celebrate their victory for the Super Bowl LII, because some players said that they would not visit the White House due to Trump’s criticism towards those who kneel or had raised their fists during the national anthem to protest against the racial injustice and police brutality.

Trump published a statement at the time concerning his invitation cancellation, saying that “the 1,000 fans who plan to attend the event deserve better”.
“They do not agree with their president because he insists that they proudly represent the national anthem, the hand in the soul, in honor of the great men and women of our soldiers and the inhabitants of our country, “read Trump’s declaration seven years ago.

The owner of the Eagles, Jeffrey Lurie, was questioned before the Super Bowl Lix if he went to the White House if his team won.
“I just want to win on Sunday,” he replied, via the sports of the front office.
