Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the entire economic team on Thursday, in particular the Minister of Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb, for their hard work and their dedication in the preparation of the federal budget for the 2025-26 financial year.
He also expressed his gratitude to the federal office and the Allied political parties for their support for the finalization of the budget.
Chairing the meeting of the cabinet, the Prime Minister also spoke of recent regional developments and praised the ceasefire between Israel and Iran, which qualified him a crucial step to avoid more climbing and loss. He thanked God for peaceful resolution and recognized the important role played by various countries, including Saudi Arabia, to ensure the ceasefire.
He declared that Iran had openly thanked the people of Pakistan, its political parties, its military and political leaders for their role in the guarantee of ceasefies between the two countries.
“The Iranian management specifically appointed the president of Pakistan-himself and the Marshal in the field-for their contribution to the efforts of cease-fire,” said the Prime Minister.
Regarding Iran’s attack on Qatar, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan had also published a conviction, reiterating Pakistan’s close ties with the fraternal nation.
With regard to Muharram Ul Haram, Shehbaz Sharif has ordered the authorities concerned to ensure strict law on trials and the Majalis across the country. He also asked the Minister of the Interior to coordinate with provincial governments, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and cashmere to maintain peace and security during the month.
