Friday, the Pakistan Electoral Commission (ECP) gave a reminder to all political parties, urging them to submit their consolidated statements for accounts for the year 2024-2025 before August 29, 2025 in accordance with the 2017 law on the Elections Act.
In an official press release, the ECP stressed that by virtue of article 210 of the law of 2017, as well as articles 204 and rules 159 and 160 of electoral rules, 2017, each political party is required to deposit Form-D, which must include financial details audited for the financial year ending on June 30, 2025.
The financial state must describe the annual income and expenses of the game, sources of funds, assets and liabilities, and must be accompanied by an audit report prepared by an authorized accountant.
In addition, political parties must submit a certificate signed by an authorized border holder, confirming that no funds have been received from prohibited sources under the election law. Certification must also confirm the accuracy and completeness of the financial information provided.
According to rule 156 of the electoral rules, the press release must be submitted in person by an office position authorized by the party leader. The ECP said that the declarations sent by Post, Fax, Courier or other methods will not be accepted.
Copies printed in Form-D are available free of charge at the PCE secretariat in Islamabad and the offices of provincial electoral commissioners in Punjab, Sindh, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Baloutchistan. The formal form and format can also be downloaded from the official ECP website.
The submission should also include readable copies of the party’s bank statements from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025, as well as a bank reconciliation press release. An attested copy of the auditor’s membership certificate issued by the Pakistan Authorized Accountants Institute, as well as the last renewal, must be attached.
The Commission has urged all political parties to ensure that their observations are complete, legible and without crushing, because incomplete or poorly filed declarations can be rejected.
