- New leaks may have revealed Google’s smart house plans
- An unexpected device is called the Google Home speaker
- Google Home Premium Plans is apparently on the way
Google shakes its offers from smart homes, with an AI and new improved devices on the way, and a few new leaks point to an upcoming speaker, a brand change and a new advantage for Google.
First of all, the 9TO5GOOGLE team dug the Google Home application code on Android, finding a hidden reference to something called the “Google Home speaker”-perhaps a rather obvious name for the next Google smart speaker.
We don’t really get much more on the device, apart from the name, but there is a mention of a “360 audio” feature. This perhaps indicates the end of the Nest brand for these gadgets, and a return to the old names of the Google house instead.
It is possible that we have already seen this speaker, because something small, round and speaker was spotted in one of the promotional clips used during the Made by Google event which launched the Pixel 10-although Google did not refer to it.
Google Home Premium
Another discovery of 9TO5GOOGLE in the same application: there is a reference to a “Google Home Premium” and “Google Home Premium Advanced”, which are probably to rename the current plans of consciousness and conscious nest more.
These subscriptions give you access to video clips recorded in the cloud, taken by your Nest cameras, as well as smarter alerts (such as the ability to distinguish a dog barking and a person who speaks in the notifications you get).
According to information observed by 9TO5GOOGLE, the lower level – Google Home Premium – could be part of certain Google One subscriptions. This is already the case for Nest Aware in the United Kingdom, so look at this space for updates.
Google One subscriptions start at $ 1.99 / £ 1.59 / $ 2.99 per per month and give you more cloud storage, access to more powerful AI tools, discounts on the Google store and extras such as Fitbit Premium.
