Islamabad:
The electricity division has moved the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to apply a uniform rate for electricity consumers across the country.
The Nepra will hold a hearing on July 1 on the petition. The federal government has filed a request under the 1998 rules, article 17. It was submitted in the request that the subsidy and rationalization of prohibited rate are included in the proposed rate.
The initiative is taken to set uniform rates across the country. The uniform rate should be set from July 1. According to NEPRA, the hearing will examine the request of the federal government.
