The Falcons Star Bijan Robinson have the impact beyond the football field

For Bijan Robinson, his impact on the field is only half the story he wants to tell about himself.

After playing at the University of Texas in Austin, Robinson was the eighth overall choice of the NFL 2023 draft by the Falcons of Atlanta.

He rushed to more than 1,400 yards during his campaign in small groups last season. But when he does not direct the offensive of Falcons, he does what he can have an impact in his local community.

The running back star has teamed up with Tante Anne’s to share Reading’s joy with the launch of Knead & Read, a national literacy program. Parents or teachers help students set up a reading goal, and children can follow their progress using a special kneading and reading sign available for online download or in their local Aunt Anne store. They can then get a free Bretzel.

“This is something we are celebrating, and it is a great success for children and adolescents and families. Everyone obviously likes that of Aunt Anne, so they can also enjoy it. It’s super cool, and seeing children’s faces is quite incredible,” Robinson told PK Press Club Digital in a recent interview.

“On the ground, I was blessed, and God gave me a gift on the ground so that I could do things like this out of the field. It is important to play for my team, but when I have opportunities like this, to associate with Aunt Anne, it is bigger than football. We can incorporate things like reading and things that people may not know too much, that is no more than a favorite player.

Robinson can make these same children very happy by helping the Falcons to reach their first qualifying series since the 2017 season. Atlanta is currently 2-2 with a campaign from top to bottom so far.

During week 1, kicks contributed to a 23-20 defeat. They then took care of the Vikings before a devastating defeat of 30-0 against the Panthers of Caroline. But they returned to the right track with a 34-27 victory last weekend against Washington commanders without Jayden Daniels.

The Falcons had the chance to win a place in the playoffs last year, but ended with a file of 8-9 after three consecutive seasons of 7-10. But after helping the local community, Robinson has eyes on the fact of bringing the Falcons back to the place where this same community wants his favorite team.

“We just have to continue playing with an advantage, take a whole week at a time and, you know, make sure that each match is a championship match for us because it is,” said Robinson. “Each match is so important. We cannot wait for anyone, we must not focus on who we focus this week and put as much heart and effort in this week we play. If we do things in the right way and stay consistent and take a game at a time, I have the impression that we are going to be difficult to stop.
