The federal government will provide free electric bikes to the best performing students of all educational advice in Pakistan, including the Federal Council, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Friday.
Chairing a high -level meeting on the promotion of electric vehicles (EV), the Prime Minister said that the initiative aims to reward academic excellence while supporting the wider push of the government for clearer and profitable transport.
The regime will also favor economically disadvantaged individuals for the supply of ripe pousse and electric chargers, helping to generate a job and reduce dependence on fuel imports.
To ensure accessibility, the government is preparing a complete action plan to introduce electric vehicles at affordable prices through subsidized loans.
More than 100,000 electric bikes and 300,000 chargers will be distributed on easy conditions, managed officials at the meeting.
The Prime Minister ordered that 25% of the total quota within the framework of the electric vehicle system is reserved for women, with provincial allowances based on population ratios. He also asked that the share of Balutchistan be increased to 10%.
In addition to the initiative focused on students, the government takes measures to establish a complete ecosystem for the manufacture and maintenance of electric vehicles.
Four new batteries manufacturing companies should start operations in Pakistan as part of this plan, which should create new employment opportunities and stimulate local industry.
To ensure transparency and responsibility, PM Shehbaz ordered the validation of third parties of the distribution and support mechanisms.
He also called for public awareness campaign to inform the citizens of the program and encourage adoption.
Electric bikes, ripens and chargers distributed as part of the initiative must meet safety and quality standards, said the PM.
The meeting was followed by the federal ministers Ahad Khan Cheema and Attaullah Tarar, the special assistant Haroon Akhtar, the chief coordinator Mosharraf Zaidi and the senior officials of the departments concerned.
