- Nintendo revealed a new Joy-Con 2 colorway
- They will be launched on the same day as Mario Tennis feverFebruary 12
- You can pre-order them now on the Nintendo website
Nintendo has announced the first official alternate colorway for its Joy-Con 2 controllers.
Compatible with Nintendo Switch 2, the new “Light Purple and Light Green” Joy-Con 2 should be released on February 12, according to an official announcement on Nintendo of America’s X/Twitter account.
These are pretty much identical to the red and blue Joy-Con 2 that came with the Switch 2. The biggest difference, obviously, is the color scheme, which swaps out that red and blue for a pair of cooler colorways. They look quite nice and can be pre-ordered now for the usual price of $99.99 / £74.99 from the Nintendo online store.
By taking advantage of #MarioTennisFever, you will also have the opportunity to give your #NintendoSwitch2 a new look! The first new colored Joy-Con 2 controllers – Light Purple and Light Green – will also arrive on February 12. Pre-purchase now: pic.twitter.com/JoE8r4oOQlJanuary 8, 2026
As mentioned in the tweet, the Light Purple and Light Green Joy-Con 2 controllers will launch on the same day as the next one. Mario Tennis fever. There’s even a brand new trailer for Camelot’s racket smasher, and honestly, it looks really good.
As for the Joy-Con 2, don’t expect any radical changes to the hardware. They appear to be your typical Joy-Con 2, but with a different color scheme. This new colorway is unlikely to offer anything like improved battery life or Hall effect sticks, for example.
