- Two disclosed images reveal the next Sony A7 V
- One shows the resolution of the sensors, the other the rear design of the camera
- It could be published in October or November 2025
The year 2021. It was how long it was introduced by Sony the current A7 IV and highdown the camera bar without mid -range mirror.
The complete 33MP model remains a remarkably capable versatile, but it lost first place in our best camera guide without a mirror of the Canon Eos R6 Mark II and, therefore, the Nikon Z6 III, Pair-Beter.
However, there are potentially good news for Sony fans, because we could just see the first disclosed images of the successor of the A7 IV, the A7 V.
The new camera has shared what she says to be two images of the Sony A7 V which apparently reveal the resolution of the sensors and the enhanced design upgrades of the A7 IV.
There has been a lot of speculation this year on what the A7 V will bring to the table and the disclosed images apparently pour cold water on the dreams of a significant upgrade.
However, there are still a lot of things that we do not know and no speculation should be taken with a pinch of salt, whatever the reliable of the source. Let’s take a look at what is said.
An upheaval without mid -range mirror?
Mid -range mirror cameras tend to reach the ideal price / performance point and that’s exactly what the Sony A7 IV did four years ago.
Since then, however, Canon and Nikon have continued to establish new standards in this class – the EOS R6 Mark II and Z6 III both draw more quickly, and their video specifications blow the A7 IV out of the water.
They put the heat on Sony, whose original A7 series has long been one of the best sellers. So, will the mid-range market be shaking if and when will the A7 V arrive?
One of the disclosed images shows the rear screen with the resolution of the displayed camera: 33 MP large, average 14 MP, 8.2MP Small. This suggests that the resolution of the A7 V is unchanged compared to the 33MP A7 IV, which still beats its rivals today.
What we do not know is if it is the same sensor as before, revised or a new type. For example, the Nikon Z6 III has a partially faster 24MP sensor, while premium models like the Nikon Z8 and the Eos R5 II Can have a fully faster -fired sensor.
Such a type of sensor would increase performance, effectively eliminating the distortion of the shutter to ride which afflicts the A7 IV in the video and the bursting of the shooting, as well as to form the foundation for improved performance which could see the match A7 V or exceed its rivals, and with a higher resolution sensor.
The second disclosed image reveals a section of the rear of the A7 V, suggesting that the A7 V could obtain a tilt-in tactile screen / versatile angle at 2 axes as in the A1 II, although the handle can remain in a style similar to existing A7 models.
The new camera has continued to speculate on other improvements to which we could wait reasonably, praising 20 images per second.
We also think that the Sony A7 V is coming this year, praising an outing in October or November. There is the word of a cannon EOS R6 Mark III linked to 2025 also, supposedly with the 32MP sensor that we saw in the recent EOS C50. Such a wave of versions would really shake the range of the range.
We will share under additional reflections on the Sony A7 V shortly, unpacking the upgrades that we think that Sony must provide to show a convincing case on its rivals. Stay listening for this room.
